Acqua al Due is a luxury villa rental located near Praiano, on the Amalfi Coast. It enjoys a 180 degree view of the Mediterranean with the Island of Capri and its Faraglioni rock formation on the horizon, and the magical town of Positano to the right.

Location

Located between Positano and Amalfi, one can enjoy the peace of a Mediterranean-style small town villa while being within reach of two of the most beautiful and exciting vacation destinations in Italy, with shops, sites, cultural events and restaurants. Parking is available on request at a private garage roughly 800 meters from the house paid locally. Less than 1 mile from the house there is a coffee bar with an Internet café, restaurants, post office, and the stop for the SITA bus that connects all the villages along the Amalfi coast. The local mini-shuttle which runs from Praiano to the beach at La Praia and to Positano stops about 400 meters from the villa (summertime only). A little supermarket, at about 600 meters from the villa, is well stocked and provides nearly everything one would need.

Property Details

The property was completely restored by the owners in 2006. It is built on two levels and has two completely independent apartments each with en-suite bathrooms, kitchens and outdoor terraces. On a third level is a magnificent infinity pool (10.5m x 4.5m x 1.6m). A fourth terrace has a wonderful shaded limonaia (lemon tree pergola), where you can sit and have a drink or rest on a lounge chair in peace and seclusion.

From the street level it is about 80 meters via a pedestrian-only pathway to the villa’s entrance. Going down another 20 steps from the property’s entrance, and to the right is the fruit-lined path to the pool area equipped with 3 chaises lounges and 6 deck chairs. A cultivated garden provides delicious vegetables to guests, when in season. A few steps past an outdoor shower, and hidden behind stones and a bougainvillea-covered cupola, is the fourth terrace with hand-made ceramic table and four chairs.

Upstairs Apartment; 1,291 sq ft.
The upstairs apartment sleeps 4 with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. From the street level you enter into a terrace above the property. You go down approximately 20 external steps to a large terracotta terrace with spectacular view and furnished with wicker sofa, coffee table, 2 chairs, market umbrella and a Spanish-style canopy. Also on this terrace is a beautiful table for 8. Through two large glass doors you enter into the living area, two wide rooms with cupola ceilings, a picture window that looks out to the sea and a fireplace. It is simply and elegantly furnished with a sofa, a coffee table and wicker furniture and TV. With a large glass door facing the sea, the eat-in-kitchen has a wooden table which seats 6-8, American-size fridge, stove, oven, dishwasher, various sized espresso machines and a Melita coffee maker. The master bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed. There is a desk with computer and Internet access, printer and a fax machine. The bathroom has a shower, bidet and sink. The second bedroom is small but lovely with twin beds that can be joined to form a king. To compensate for its size, the bedroom opens into a spacious bathroom with shower, bathtub, bidet and sink set into travertine countertops.

Downstairs Apartment; 700 sq ft.
The downstairs apartment sleeps 2 with a large bedroom and bathroom (plus a guest WC). Approximately 20 external steps down from the upstairs apartment will lead you to the downstairs terrace. Under a bougainvillea pergola a large handmade outdoor table allows you to eat or drink in front of the exquisite view of Positano and the Mediterranean Sea. In front of the terrace is a beautiful grass lawn. The master bedroom looks onto the sea through an all-glass arched wall with a door for access onto the terrace. There is a queen size bed and a built-in closet. The en-suite bathroom has a bathtub, shower, and bidet and sink. The living room is furnished with two white sofas. A large wood dining table separates the living area from the kitchen area, which has a dishwasher, retro-style refrigerator and a handmade Vietri tile back-splash.

Amenities include an intercom system to communicate between floors and with the pool area, piped in stereo system into all rooms and bathrooms and a utility room with washing machine and sink.

If you choose to reserve this property rental for your vacation in Italy you will have the option to book a Welcome Basket which will be delivered just prior to your arrival. No need to stress over finding the nearest market for bread & cheese, wine and water, snacks and drinks. Provisions include various and seasonal ingredients to get you through the weekend. The Welcome Basket must be arranged in advance and paid for on-site in cash. Prices vary:
