Location

Casa Gianna apartment rental is in the center of Posianto on the Amalfi coast, about 2.5 hours south of Rome. The property is a 12-15 minute walk from the main piazza and about 20 minutes on foot to the beach (Spiaggia Grande). If you choose to bring a car you can park in one of Positano’s public garages, though it’s not necessary to have a car. There is a bus stop 50 meters away on the road below the villa which runs service every 15 minutes in high season to take you to the top of the town where you can catch a blue SITA bus for Amalfi (1/2 hour) and Sorrento (1 hour). Or, from the port below the villa (25 minute walk) you can take a hydrofoil to Capri (50 minutes), Naples (50 minutes), Amalfi (1/2 hour) or Salerno (1/2 hour). Within a few minutes walk of the apartment you will find all shops and services including Positano’s internationally known boutiques and restaurants.

There are about 80 total steps from the street level to the door of this apartment rental. From the street level you will pass through the villa’s communal garden terrace which is shared by 3 apartments within this property. Once arrived at a small wooden gate, you enter the terrace unique and private to Casa Gianna. There are stunning views of Positano and the sea and cliffs. The terrace is extensively landscaped with lemon trees, potted flowers and other plants and has been furnished with a large dining table for 6 under a thick and vibrant bougainvillea vine. A second large table is set under another pergola just off the living room. No doubt you will find yourself wandering outside with a fresh cup of coffee first thing in the morning.

From a covered portion of the terrace, two sets of double glass doors lead to the living room, charmingly done with cotton covered couches and a coffee table set on a white tile floor. A large fireplace occupies one wall. A folding dining table opens for four if the weather is not suitable on the terrace. The antiques include a particularly stunning armoire. Also on the ground level is a compact but fully equipped kitchen with 4-burner gas stove, oven and dishwasher. A separate walk-in pantry conceals a fridge/freezer, washing machine and additional supplies. Finally on this level is a small, all white-tiled bathroom with enclosed shower stall.

On the first floor are two bedrooms, one with twin beds and the other with king size bed which can separate into twins. Although small, they are nicely furnished and equipped with air conditioners. Each has an elegant dresser and small, low window overlooking the garden, with views of Positano and the Mediterranean. A large walk-in closet is situated in the hall to be shared. There is a bright, all white-tiled bathroom with enclosed shower stall and large window framing the fabulous view of Positano. (Please note that there is air conditioning in the upstairs bedrooms only). ADSL internet connection.

No need to stress over finding the nearest market for bread & cheese, wine and water, snacks and drinks. Provisions include various and seasonal ingredients to get you through the weekend.
