Most tourists arrive at the piazza in Ravello to admire the view and then turn around, back down to the clamor of the crowded coast road. Most visitors will entirely miss out on the hamlets of Scala, the incredible views and charming pathways and hikes to be enjoyed. The tiny village of Scala has a café, restaurant, small food shop and a pharmacy. You will find more options for shops and dining in Ravello, 1 ½ miles down the road. A lovely hike downhill will take you into Amalfi in about 30 minutes. The SITA bus service links Scala with Ravello (5 minutes) and Amalfi (30 minutes).

A large garden surrounds the Villa and protects it from the outside world, making it a hidden oasis, removed from the hustle and bustle of tourist activity. This place is filled with a magical atmosphere; the view, which is different from every terrace and observation point, is truly breathtaking and the climate, always cool and temperate even on the hottest days, makes it the perfect place for relaxing and enjoying la dolce vita. The large panoramic terrace with ancient stone fountain and wisteria-covered arcades is the heart of the house. Practical pathways run all around the well-tended gardens. Numerous olive and lemon trees offer shade and covered areas with benches and observation points from which to enjoy the view. A large panoramic swimming pool (7m x 14m) with whirlpool and a small sports field with artificial turf (for basketball, badminton, ping-pong and five-a-side football) can be found amidst the greenery of the garden. The vegetable garden provides fresh, natural produce for the kitchen.

All the rooms and living areas in the Villa have central heating, air conditioning, and telephones, digital and satellite TV, ADSL broadband and access to the digital archive with HD films and music. The family room has a home theater entertainment system with movie screen-sized video and surround-sound multi-channel audio, a musical instrument area (keyboards and electric piano, guitars), video-game console, computer with printer, fax, scanner and photocopier, a well-stocked library featuring literary classics, including children’s books, and a film library with hundreds of movies, operas and concerts in high definition Blu-ray. There are 5 bedrooms in the villa; 4 doubles and 1 single, with a single sofa bed in one of the suites to provide accommodations for a 10th person if necessary. First floor: hallway with access to the garden via a stairway; Suite 1: living room with fireplace and access to the garden, double bedroom, Turkish bath with hydro massage shower and chromatherapy system (color and light therapy), bathtub with panoramic view. Suite 2: living room with single sofa bed (French bed for 1 person), double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with hydro massage shower and access to the panoramic terrace. Suite 3: double bedroom with desk and access to the garden, from this room it is possible to reach the 5th bedroom, a single bedroom with a second entrance to the garden and with en-suite bathroom with shower. Suite 4: double bedroom with “secret” passage (trompe l'oeil door in the wall closet) leading to the attic room and bathroom with bathtub.
