Ideally positioned in Fornillo, high enough to enjoy views, yet close to the nicest beaches, Villa Primavera is a much loved vacation rental property in Positano, a very charming 18th century family home, full of character and memories.

Location

For those seeking the best of both worlds – views without much effort – we offer Villa Primavera. The villa sits high enough on the cliffs to take advantage of sweeping views, yet you’re only a 15 minute walk down to the center of Positano. From the center, a further 10 minutes through shops and restaurants brings you to the main beach “Spiaggia Grande” and to the port where you can get the ferry (hydrofoil) to Capri, Amalfi, Sorrento and Naples. Alternatively, directly from the villa you can walk down a typical staircase leading down Fornillo beach, about 10 minutes away, considered by some to be the best beach in the area. On the road below the villa is the bus station where you can catch the little yellow internal Positano bus (it comes along every 15 minutes in summer) which takes you to the top of the village from where you can switch to the blue SITA busses running to Amalfi, Ravello, Sorrento and Naples. Within few minutes walk of the rental property there is a variety of shops, bars, internationally known boutiques and various restaurants.

The entrance door hides a terrace with a lemon grove which runs along the ground floor rooms. One level up is a large paved terrace, a real garden of delight adorned with classic style columns supporting a thick and vibrant bougainvillea and wisteria pergola. Large terracotta pots hold mature jasmine, palms and colorful geraniums, with views of Positano, the village of Fornillo and its ''presepe'' completing the picture of this historical house.

The well maintained interiors, featuring high vaulted ceilings and terracotta tiles, are furnished with period pieces. Many original paintings and portraits, prints and ceramics give the house a very intimate feeling and an old world atmosphere. Built on three levels with a mezzanine in between, Villa Primavera enjoys two means of access: from a typical stairway street (22 steps) or internally from a private garage (25 steps), a real rarity in Positano.

Once arrived at the ground floor the entrance from the terrace takes you into a hall/sitting room. Off the hallway is a twin bedroom with access to the lemon garden terrace. In the hallway is a bathroom with shower. Also on this level is a large master bedroom and en-suite bathroom with tub, and double French doors opening to the same lemon terrace. Internal steps bring you to the first floor (you can also access the first floor from an external stairway coming from the lower terrace). On the first floor is the living room with sofas and a large fireplace adorned with ceramic tiles. There is a well-equipped kitchen, covered with hand-made reproductions of antique tiles, and opening to a small utility terrace facing the street. Steps to the mezzanine floor bring you to a dining corner for 7, with window and door opening to the upper terrace, furnished with outdoor table and chairs, granite and wrought iron benches and sun loungers. Thirteen steps bring you to the second floor which has a double bedroom with queen gondola style bed which opens to a small balcony with views. There is also a single bedroom suitable for a child with window sharing the same view as the double bedroom. Finally there is a bathroom with shower on this floor.

The private garage space is available for use of 1 car (6 meters in length, 5 meters in width and 2.5 meters in height.
