The piazza is the site of the ancient Roman amphitheater, once used for gladiator battles, then fortified through the centuries to protect the city. Interestingly, the stairs within the apartment from the dining room to the living room are the actual stones upon which spectators would sit to watch the gladiator games! A beautiful flower market is held in April around the 24th – 27th to celebrate Santa Zita. In June/July various concerts during the Summer Festival take place in the piazza.

This apartment is located in the heart of Lucca overlooking the ancient Roman Amphitheatre and a few steps from everything you’ll need for your vacation. The train station is about 20 minutes away on foot, from where you can reach all the major towns in Tuscany (Siena, Florence, Pisa, Arezzo and Cortona).

From the street level 25 steps bring you to the entrance of the apartment. There is a living room, fully equipped kitchen, dining room, a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with a tub, a twin bedroom and a second double bedroom which share a bathroom with a shower enclosure. There is a third bathroom with a sink, toilet, and a washing machine. Every room has its own air conditioning unit. There is wireless internet access, and a satellite television.
