Casa Trecento has the rare advantage of being in the town. While there is a free parking space not too far from the property, you don't need a car unless you plan to use it for day trips to other Tuscan towns. The center of Cortona is a 5-minute stroll down hill (take note, that's uphill on the way back!). All shops, restaurants and services can be found in Cortona. This is an ideal choice for those who wish to spend a holiday in an ancient Etruscan land just a stones throw away from many of Tuscany's historic and artistic treasures.

Property Details

Casa Trecento is an ancient property which dates back to the year 1300 and is situated in the most ancient part of Cortona. Casa Trecento is the result of a 5-year project to bring the old beams and ancient floors, which were in a state of ruin, back to light. There was even an ancient well carved into the wall in the living room which was able to be revived.

This ancient home has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The rooms of the house are characterized by ancient chestnut wood floors, arches and wood beams. All the rooms have been furnished with antique and traditional furniture which has been carefully restored; the beds are antique, wrought iron. From the windows you can admire the lovely panorama which dominates the ancient rooftops of Cortona and a large part of the Val di Chiana. On the ground floor is the living room with a bar characterized by the stone fireplace (use it, it works!), 1 bathroom with shower and laundry area. An ancient staircase will bring you to the first floor where you will find a large kitchen (fridge/freezer, microwave, American and Italian coffee makers) built in stone with ancient niches used as cupboards and a table large enough for 10. There is a double bedroom on this floor with king size bed. On the second floor is another bedroom with king size bed, and a twin bedroom (2 singles) and a bathroom with shower.
