Location

The estate is 1 mile from the walled medieval village (now pedestrian only) of Monteriggioni where you’ll find several restaurants, a pharmacy, gas station and a café. A healthy walk (30 minutes) the village of Monteriggioni can be reached on foot by crossing through fields on dirt roads; or by car in 4 minutes.

Historical records of this estate date back to 1234 and some trace ancient Etruscan ruins, still visible today, to the year 1056. All around the Villa and Italian-style garden are several buildings of the ancient hamlet that once housed the farmers, the workshops, the oil mill, wine cellars and the stables that made the estate a self sufficient village. Some of these farm houses have been transformed into elegant and comfortable apartments for peaceful holidays, while the farm itself still produces wine and olive oil. The owners currently live in the top floor of the main villa year round, and are available to attend to the needs of the guests and provide invaluable advice on local towns, restaurants and activities.

Property Details

The villa on the estate is surrounded by woods, vineyards and olive groves, and with its final transformation in 1700 was converted into the holiday residence it remains to this day. It is included in the list of National Historical Buildings and enriched with gardens and fountains both on the front and back of the building represents a unique and prestigious example of family estate. An arch connects the two identical buildings of the villa, each of which has a distinct purpose: one, with its large drawing rooms and bedrooms, is the residence, while the other contains the wine cellars that produce Chianti Classico and the ancient barn whose airy spaces are now used for social events hosting up to 300 guests. The estate can be rented all together to accommodate 36 people (wedding planning available). The Villa sleeps 8, the Farmhouse sleeps 16 in 3 units, and the Cantina sleeps 12.

The Farmhouse is laid out over 2 floors and is comprised of 3 rental units (F1, F2 and F3). It is a cozy, bright and spacious accommodation ideal for couples and families. There are 2 units for 4 people, and one unit for 8 people; it can also be rented as one entire farmhouse to comfortably accommodate 16 people. F3 is on the ground floor, whereas F1 & F2 are on the first floor. The swimming pool (7m x 14m) is shared with the guests of the Cantina. Children are welcome.

F1 consists of a living room with comfy sofas and a fireplace, 3 romantic double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom, 3 bathrooms with showers, and a large kitchen with table for 12.

F2 consists of a large and bright double bedroom with canopy, a twin bedroom and a bathroom with bathtub. There is a large eat-in kitchen with living area.

F3 consists of a spacious sitting room that looks onto a private outdoor area equipped with table and garden chairs for dining al fresco. There is one double bedroom with queen size bed, a twin bedroom and one bathroom with bathtub and features an arched roof. This unit is comfortable also in the winter time with its large and cozy eat-in kitchen with fireplace and its warm colored walls.

Linens and towels are provided and changed on a weekly basis. All apartments are supplied with dishwasher, electric stove, oven, freezer, pop-up toaster, Italian coffee pots, American style coffee maker, all kitchenware, juicer, food processor, washing machine, hair dryers, steam iron and ironing board, satellite TV, CD player and stereo. Free broadband Wi-Fi internet connection available for Villa guests. Maid and cook services are available on request.
