Villa Caprifoglio is a recently renovated Tuscan villa rental, originally a noble mansion with the charm and uniqueness of an historic palace. This gracious villa is built on a hillside near the town of Staggia, a short drive from Siena and within easy reach of the Chianti hill towns, Florence and Pisa.

Location

Built on a hillside near the small hamlet of Staggia Senese in the Chianti region of Tuscany, Villa Caprifoglio sits a short distance from Siena (15 km), Florence (40 Km), San Gimignano (20 km), and Monteriggioni (7 km). Food shops and restaurants are all within a short drive in Staggia (2km) and Monteriggioni. It is possible to walk into Staggia, but be prepared for a long, but lovely walk (about an hour).

The villa has been in the same family for generations, and is now managed by the charming young owner who attends to the needs of his guests with the grace and warmth typical of Italian hospitality.

Outside there is the large garden of about 2 acres. On the right side the house is flanked by a lemon terrace where guests will enjoy al fresco meals. On the left side of the house there is a grove of Holm oaks, a shady area to relax during the hottest hours of the day. The swimming pool (10m x 5m x 1.40m) is open from mid-April to end of September and is located in a private area behind the villa; surrounded by a large green lawn it is equipped with sun chairs and lounges for a comfortable, private and refreshing swim.

The ground floor shows the great rooms typical of the eighteen century villas inspired by the Palladian style. On the right side of the large entrance there is a wide and bright living room which is the largest and the oldest room in the villa. Featured by great vaults, it is enhanced by a fireplace in green marble and is furnished with antiques. On the left side of the entrance is the dining room and from here you access the kitchen, which has been completely renovated and is equipped with every necessary amenity (water filtration, 5-burner stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine). There is a bathroom with shower on the ground floor. Please note that there is air conditioning in the bedrooms on the first floor, not on the ground floor.

On the first floor are the bedrooms. There are 6 rooms in all, each equipped with air conditioning. There are 4 bedrooms with queen size beds, each with en-suite bathrooms with showers (one also has a tub). The 5th bedrooms has an American double bed (best for 1 person, but can accommodate 2), and the 6th bedroom has twin beds. The 5th and 6th bedrooms share a bathroom with shower. Each room features elegant furniture dating back to the eighteen century in order to preserve the charm of an elegant atmosphere.

There is a third floor, with separate access, where the discrete caretaker lives. Please be assured that, where not otherwise indicated, all internal and external spaces are at the exclusive disposal of the villa guests.
