Location
In the town center of Montalcino there is a variety of small shops, bars and restaurants. A car is required due to the remoteness of this location. This is a very rural part of Tuscany, and very beautiful countryside setting, ideal for those wishing to visit the vineyards and wineries of southern Tuscany, the creators of the concept Super Tuscan (think Brunello di Montalcino). This is also a great base for visiting the famous spas of Bagno Vignoni and Chianciano Terme, the Orcia Valley, Monte Amiata and the Maremma. You are about 1 ½ hours from Florence despite its proximity due to the beautiful, but meandering country roads.
Distances: Montalcino 500 meters, Barbi 5 miles (home of the famous Brunello winery), Montepulciano 23 miles, Siena 27 miles, Cortona 40 miles, Florence 86 miles, Rome 134 miles.

From both the house and the garden you will enjoy beautiful views over the surrounding countryside and the hill town Montalcino.
