From here it is a short drive to other towns like Perugia, Orvieto, Montepulciano, Pienza, Assisi, Cortona, Todi, Deruta, and Siena, which places you right in the middle of all that Tuscany and Umbria have to offer.

This house was built in a part of the town that dates back 1,000 years. The current owners have lovingly restored it into a luxury rental home in Umbria blending traditional charm with modern convenience. The rental home in Panicale is perfect for couples who wish to use it as a base to explore Umbria and Tuscany for a week or more. And for those lucky enough to spend more time, it makes the perfect place to be inspired to write, paint, cook, taste, or learn Italian. In the summer months, the main piazza is filled with candle-lit tables for people to enjoy the free open air jazz, classical or world music concerts. Three and four day festivals are always springing up either in Panicale or its neighboring hilltop towns. In the winter months, the concerts and plays continue in the piazza or in one of the seven churches in town. Truffles and Porcini mushrooms return to the table as the food continues to evolve and local menus change according to season.

Facilities in Panicale include 2 bars, 3 restaurants, a bank with an ATM, a post office, grocery stores, a bakery, a news stand which sells foreign newspapers, pharmacy, butcher, clothing stores, and a tourist information center which offers free tours of the town, and the lace museum from where Popes and Kings have commissioned work in the past. There is also a beautifully restored theater for live drama and music. And for art lovers, Panicale's pride is Pietro Vannucci, best known for being Raphael's teacher. One could happily explore Panicale and the surrounding countryside villages using only public transportation: Chiusi, 12.4 miles away, has a main train station serving Rome (120 miles) and Florence (80 miles) as well as taxi service to/from Panicale; Perugia (21 miles) has a train station and buses which run twice daily to/from Panicale. However if you plan frequent day trips it is advisable to rent a car.

First floor: This is the main living area of the house and here you will find the dining room, living/entertainment room, an elaborate kitchen fitted with restaurant grade appliances so you can easily cook up a storm. Meanwhile friends can help unwrap the spoils of your morning's market adventure, and liberate that precious bottle of red. And speaking of wine, there's even an extra wine fridge relieving the main fridge for equally important items like fresh fruit, vegetables, salami and cheeses.

Second floor: There is a double bedroom (king size bed which can be made into twins), and another bedroom with king size 4-poster bed with in-room sink, and a shared bathroom with shower and large bathtub. From the 4-poster bedroom a small stairway leads to a romantic balcony with lovely view over the countryside.

From a typical street in the village you will climb 3 steps to enter the ground level.
