Location & Leisure Activities
|
The apartment rental is located in the elegant and sophisticated village of Ravello which sits on a rocky spur high above the Amalfi Coast in southern Italy, about 2 ½ hours south of Rome. A narrow, steep and windy road leads from the SS163 (the main, narrow 2-lane coastal road) up to the village. At the entrance to Ravello you’ll find a public parking lot where you can keep a rental car, but be prepared to pay a “pretty euro” for the privilege – there are not many spots and in high season it may be impossible to secure parking in town. Opt instead for public transportation: take the blue SITA bus (which leaves every hour from the Garden Hotel) to Amalfi (15 minutes), and hop a hydrofoil to Positano (15 minutes), Sorrento (45 minutes), Capri (30 minutes), Salerno (20 minutes), Naples (45 minutes) or Ischia (1 hour). The property is about 7 minutes on foot from the center of Ravello where you can find all essentials (shops, cafés, restaurants, groceries, banks and gas station).
Distances: Amalfi 3.1 miles, Positano 12.4 miles, Salerno 18 miles, Sorrento 24 miles, Naples 40 miles, Rome 198 miles. |
Outside

From a semi-private pathway at the edge of town a stone stairway leads down 60 steps to the private and secluded estate. There is a short flight of steps from the garden level to the apartment door. Two levels below the apartment’s entrance is a large swimming pool (18m x 9m; open May 1 – October 30) to be shared with the 5 other apartments in the villa, and from where you will enjoy views spanning from Villa Rufolo along the Amalfi Coast, toward the Coast of Cilento. |
